Tom Dossey is an associate at Watt Tieder in McLean, Virginia. He concentrates his practice on construction litigation, government contracts, and suretyship law. Tom’s litigation work includes handling deficient performance and cost overrun issues, as well as complex False Claims Act investigations and lawsuits. Tom also regularly appears in court to advocate for surety interests, particularly in cases involving performance bond claims. Through his tenure at Watt Tieder, Tom has gained valuable experience in resolving sophisticated discovery disputes, preparing dispositive motion briefing, and developing cost-effective case strategy.

Tom graduated cum laude from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University. In law school, Tom was the Managing Editor of the Journal of Law, Economics & Policy, President of the Student Bar Association, and Vice Justice of the Moot Court Board. Additionally, Tom was named champion of various moot court competitions, including the 2023 Boston Regional of the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition, 2022 Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition, and his Upper-Class and First-Year law school competitions. During law school, Tom completed internships for: (i) the Honorable Elizabeth L. Gunn at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Columbia, and (ii) the in-house counsel’s office of Giesecke & Devrient America.
