Robert Cimmino is an associate at Watt Tieder in McLean, Virginia. Robert has experience representing contractors and sureties in matters involving indemnity, breach of contract, design defect, and delay claims. He has assisted clients in successfully resolving disputes arising from large transportation infrastructure projects, housing developments, commercial real estate, manufacturing facilities, and government contracts. Through his practice, Robert has gained extensive experience in motions practice, complex discovery matters, and appellate briefing in state and federal court as well as arbitration proceedings.

Robert is also an adjunct professor at Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University, where he teaches international commercial arbitration. Robert further serves as an expert advisor with the Commercial Law Development Program of the United States Department of Commerce, conducting lectures and training seminars on international arbitration and commercial law in the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Robert received his J.D. and Master’s in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, where he focused on international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. He also holds an LL.M. in International Arbitration and Business Law from the American University Washington College of Law. During law school, Robert worked as a judicial intern with Justice David Wecht of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and served as CFO of the Pitt Legal Income Sharing Foundation, a non-profit intended to support scholarships for law students undertaking unpaid public interest positions.
