Maxwell Kavy is an attorney in Watt Tieder’s Chicago office. He has practiced construction law since graduating from law school and understands his clients on a personal level.

Max has a wide range of experience in all areas of construction law, including matters involving the Illinois Mechanics Lien Act, the Illinois Public Construction Bond Act, and the federal Miller Act as well as its state level counterparts. He has represented project owners and lenders, general contractors and subcontractors, design and real estate firms, restaurants, and small business owners in both state and federal court.

Max also has significant experience with all aspects of OSHA investigations, including pre-citation site visits and accompanying investigations, and has resolved citations on behalf of his clients in a cost-effective manner and without resorting to litigation. However, when litigation is necessary, Max vigorously advocates for his clients in order to obtain favorable outcomes.

As the son of a contractor, Max understands the stresses and practical effects of construction disputes and seeks to resolve cases efficiently. He provides all of his clients the same level of service, whether their case is a simple contract dispute or involves a multimillion-dollar construction project.
