James Timko is an associate at Watt Tieder’s McLean office. He concentrates his practice in construction litigation, government contracts and suretyship law. He joined Watt Tieder in 2023 after working as an associate at a firm based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he practiced commercial litigation.

James graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While in law school, James served as a Bluebook Editor for the Pittsburgh Tax Review and as a teaching assistant for a Legal Analysis & Writing course. He also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Steven N. Berk of the Superior Court for the District of Columbia and as an intern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Before attending law school, James worked as a paralegal at an international law firm in Washington, D.C.
