Christopher M. Bunge

PARTNER | IRVINE, CA
(949) 852-6700

For over twenty years, Chris Bunge has been a litigator for the construction industry, providing a full range of litigation and counseling services in the arenas of public and private construction projects, suretyship, and contractual disputes. Starting his career in Connecticut, Chris represented contractors and project owners all over New England and New York. He expanded that practice after moving to Southern California in 2009.

Chris has prepared, prosecuted and defended against a wide variety of construction claims  in both the private and public realms. Chris uses his claim experience to advise clients on contract negotiation and drafting with an eye to avoid costly disputes or otherwise mitigate costs to resolve such disputes.

Chris has also acted in a general counsel role for many California contractors working for various public agencies, including Caltrans, the Los Angeles Unified School District, the Antelope Valley Community College District, and South San Francisco Unified School District. In this capacity, Chris has helped contractors navigate statutory requirements for government contracting, negotiation of change orders, and the resolution of claims in arbitration or litigation.

Chris has also successfully taken matters through trial, including a defense verdict for a underground utility contractor on a USACE project and a defense verdict on behalf of a nationally recognized subdivision developer against a contractor contesting its termination.
