For more than 38 years, Carter Reid’s practice has encompassed the full breadth of private and public construction and surety law. He represents clients in the drafting and negotiation of contracts; the administration of project obligations; and the preparation, prosecution and defense of claims. He also has extensive experience in performance and payment guaranty-related matters, bonding, and indemnity issues giving him an experienced, educated perspective on all aspects of construction, design, and surety law.

Skilled in mediations, arbitrations, jury trials and bench proceedings, Mr. Reid has represented contractors, owners, designers, engineers and sureties in a wide variety of construction- related matters before boards, tribunals, arbitration panels, and state and federal courts including extensive experience before federal government contract fora such as the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals. He also has extensive mediation experience allowing clients to successfully resolve complex construction issues without the expense of prolonged litigation.

Over the past three decades, Mr. Reid has achieved successful results for clients on an expansive range of heavy-civil and commercial building projects in almost every state in the Union including, but not limited to; a P3 bundled bridges project in Pennsylvania, prison construction in Alabama, hospital construction in North Carolina, U.S. Navy nuclear facility construction in Upstate New York, rapid transit construction in Dallas, railway construction in Houston, hotel casino construction in Missouri, power project construction in Washington State, water treatment facility construction in Vermont, subway construction in New York City, hurricane protection construction in New Orleans, condominium construction in Miami, federal courthouse construction in Puerto Rico, and low income housing construction in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
