Global Reach

Watt Tieder is a boutique law firm with a very broad reach. From foreign governments to major private owners, such as natural oil and electric companies, we have represented both domestic and foreign clients throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Watt Tieder has years of experience working on many international projects. Such international projects bring a unique set of requirements, including the suite of FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction. We assist clients at every step: qualification to do business in foreign countries, arrangement of financing, creation of consortia, bidding and negotiating the prime contract, contract administration, dispute resolution before dispute adjudication boards and, if necessary, arbitration under the Rules of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce.

International Alliances

Watt Tieder is a founding member of The Global Construction & Infrastructure Legal Alliance (GcilA), which was founded in recognition of the need to provide the construction industry and the public and private authorities with expert legal advice in the fields of construction, infrastructure and mining law in major markets worldwide. Headquartered in Paris, France, GcilA is a unique alliance, combining the expertise, skills, and knowledge of several specialized law firms in order to provide clients with innovative and timely solutions to  complex issues and projects. The constituent members are leading practitioners from their respective jurisdictions.

In addition to providing legal representation, GcilA offers public seminars and in-house training programs, and is in the process of developing a web accessible knowledge center which will maintain a repository of contract forms, briefs, articles, monographs, and other writings on construction, infrastructure and mining law.   This team, along with our affiliation with the European law firm of HFK Rechtsanwälte, based in Munich, Germany, with additional offices in Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, Hanover and Vienna, means that we have resources close to project sites all over the world.

They do top-notch work. They're the go-to firm for construction issues - the first ones that come to mind for problem cases, large cases or complex cases. They're good from top to bottom.
